Epilogue

Looking back, 2008 was a dramatic year.
So many things, so fast.

There was the eclipse and all the new stuff.
The emotional roller coaster ride; the ecstasy and the thrashing; the depression and the thrashing
the amazing choreography.
the hell.
the five days away from the world.
the wind rushing past, on an iron horse.
the revelation.
the lengthy talks and fateful decision.
that 1 month and silence.
the hours of work in the name of commitment.
the frustration and exhaustion.
the anticipation, anxiety, suspense and *ShoCK*.
the LOL'D s and lolcats.
the welcoming rain; and the muddy field.
those brilliant choreographed explosions in the cold night sky.
the bits and pieces all over the place.
the red book.
the dramas and ironies.
the O RLY?s.
the EPICness-es.
everything.

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director 'How do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized?'

'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor. 'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.'

'No' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

This was a really busy week.

Had to rush the ROD stuffs, the montage.
slept at 0100 plus just for the montage.
Plan trainings.

For the next 12 months or so, CCA will seem to come before school.

Ran our first training on friday.
a total screw-up.
first parade screw-up.
schedule screw up.
games dry run screw up.

had recce after that.
reached home almost eight.
continued to rush the montage.

saturday ROD
supposed to reach school at 645.
but got problems with the vid.
was late.
but the AVA was still locked.

and again,
schedule screwed-up
and i dont want talk about the amazing race thing.

came back for the handover ceremony.
the best part of the ROD.
Speeches, tokens of appreciation and all that.
Got a $5 popular voucher for comp team.
and a Sem1 100% attendance cert thing.

and the 'kiss the tee wearing lipstick' thing.

but yeah.. this was the better part of the entire event.

again, because of schedule screw up and the long speeches
we were late.
no time to eat lunch.
just eat a piece of cake
and ran off to board bus for AFA.

was falling asleep during the revision lecture before AFA.
kind of dangerous with so many officers around.
anyway, the AFA was fine, and i finally can do rescue blows with face shield!

during Steph mam's speech, she mentioned that the previous Training Head kept late nights; sent mails in weird hours of the day like 3am just for Training stuffs.
o mann.
3am
its gonna be murderous.

Gone were the times, when we just had to follow instructions.
Apparently, rushing people is a lot more difficult to do than being the one rushed.

Training itself wont seem so bad, now that most of the hell comes from documents, schedules, proposals, action plans (in short: 'legal' documents).

Its a time when CCA might just as well come before school.

Its gonna be a year before our 'well-deserved break'.
